Heating Systems

A heating system is what makes platform tennis unique and fun. It allows the sport to be enjoyed in cold-weather climates regardless of what Mother Nature dishes out. While heavy snow does need to be shoveled off the deck surface, a flip of a switch will melt ice and condensation and get you playing in no time.

A heating system is comprised of four things: heaters, air circulators, rubber gasketting, and skirting around the base of the court.

Heaters can be propane (most popular,) natural gas (a natural choice if there is a gas line nearby,) and kerosene (a good choice for homeowners who don't use the heat often—no gas lines are required.) Air circulators (fans) are used to move the heat around beneath the court. Rubber gasketting, installed between each deck plank, and T-1-11 skirting around the base of the court, contains the heat.

A heating system can be installed with a new court, or added at a later date.
